I started this location in 2016 after six years of seeing insulation contractors blow product over unsealed attics and call it done. That still happens, and it still makes me tired. I hold a BPI Building Analyst certification and I’m the one who reviews every blower-door test before it goes to the homeowner. I live in the San Gabriel Valley, which means I drive the same freeways my crews do and I know which El Monte neighborhoods have the 1950s tract homes with the original knob-and-tube buried in the eaves. On weekends I restore vintage motorcycles, badly. The lesson carries over: measure twice, cut once, and document everything so you don’t have to guess what the previous person did.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with us since 2019 and runs the crew on every spray foam and radiant barrier job we take in the San Gabriel Valley. He’s certified in Icynene and Demilec application and he’s the person we send when a homeowner has already had one failed spray foam job and doesn’t trust the process anymore. Marcus grew up in Baldwin Park, so he knows the local inspector by name and he knows which El Monte permits office window to stand at when the line backs up. She came to us from a general remodeling background in 2018 and brought a carpenter’s eye for detail that shows up in how she boxes out recessed lights and seals top plates before any insulation goes in. Elena is OSHA-10 certified and she’s the crew member who catches the penetrations everyone else missed. Javier M., Apprentice Installer
Javier joined us in 2023 through a construction trades program at Rio Hondo College and he’s working toward his BPI certification while he learns air sealing and insulation removal from Marcus and Elena. He’s already the crew member we trust with attic cleaning and rodent proofing, which requires more patience than people think, especially in the older El Monte homes where squirrels have had decades to build condominiums in the soffits. Javier lives in South El Monte and he commutes on a motorcycle that he maintains himself, which means he’s comfortable in tight spaces and he doesn’t panic when something unexpected shows up above a ceiling. He’s learning to read blower-door numbers the way Marcus does, and he’s getting faster at it.
